A while ago we started the CATs (Creative Audio Techniques) initiative for indie developers — this is a series of videos that show the potential of audio engines. We’re figuring out how we can enhance the sound in the game using a game build or a footage only.
Here’s the CATs episode about making interactive soundscape for Alone In Nightmares, an indie project made by game design students — the team is called Gamecus Indie Games.
The soundscape is made in Wwise. We used such techniques as blending resynthesized sounds with real ones, randomized positioning, and the FX applied to oneshot sounds according to a comb-curved RTPC.
